Waffles

Brief Description

There are so many possibilities to put on these waffles as they are a great high protein base. In the base alone you are getting 9g protein so you can  get away with a vegetarian topping and still feel satisfied, otherwise you can top with chicken, smoked salmon, tuna or ham. 

My other favourites include:
  • 1Tb spreadable cream cheese, handful of spinach, 50g smoked salmon
  • Pizza waffle; spread of tomato paste, Edam cheese, olives, capsicum, mushrooms
  • 1Tb pesto spread, 1/2 avocado mashed and tomato
  • Spread of hummus, coleslaw and chicken or chickpeas

Directions

  • Switch waffle iron on. 
  • In a bowl beat the egg and milk together well with a fork, add salt n pepper 
  • Then add in almond meal and baking powder and beat well for 15 seconds. 
  • Pour batter into iron and close lid, wait 1-2mins and your waffle should be done! 
  • When done, remove from waffle iron and place on a plate, slice over tomato, top with rocket and crumble over feta or Edam
